Number plates in Cape Town
Number plates have to be made by a registered manufacturer and match the vehicle’s registration papers exactly. Whether a plate has been lost, damaged or the vehicle needs new ones, we order them from an approved supplier and have them ready for you.

What to have ready
Ordering replacement, damaged or newly issued number plates embossed to the correct provincial specification.
- Certified copy of your ID
- Vehicle registration certificate
- Proof of address dated within the last 3 months
- Affidavit from SAPS if the plates were lost or stolen
Plates must be embossed by an accredited manufacturer to be legal. We only use approved suppliers, so yours will pass a roadside check.
Drop-off is available too. We share the address once you are in touch.
Questions about number plates
Plates are only legal when they come from a registered manufacturer, who has to see the registration certificate and your ID. Plates made without that can get you fined at a roadside check.
Report it at a police station and keep the case number. Then send us your documents and we will order the replacement.
